These are absolutely amazing--great tasting, pliable, wraps! And you can make any fajitas, wrap sandwiches, or burritos with them! Because they bend 1000% better than all the brown rice wraps.
I bought these for 3.69 at the Raisin Rack in Columbus, Ohio, on a recent trip.
Has anyone ever found these in NC? I would buy these all the time if I could find them.
I made a wrap sandwich--spread cream cheese on the wrap, and added fresh veggies (cucumbers, alfalfa sprouts, carrot shreds, orange pepper slices, and some fresh basil). I often will use hummus instead of the cream cheese.
This was one of my favorite lunches before my Celiac diagnosis. And I'm elated that I can have it again.

ReplyDeleteI have an important question in the gluten-free diet in the U.S. and Canada, maybe you could answer.
That amount of gluten allowed in products made??? The 20PPM?
In Europe we have as "gluten free" to 20ppm gluten and may contain up to 100 PPM, is the same in the U.S.?

I'm down near Fayetteville and am always prowling Harris Teeter for new GF items - haven't seen these. Wonder if I can order online? I'll have to ask Apple Crate if they can stock them...
ReplyDeleteI've looked for these in stores and can't find them. Their site says there isn't a retailer around here. You can order them on line...but there is that nasty shipping charge.
ReplyDeleteI can answer Sonia's question, I think I'm right in saying at this time the US doesn't have a standard allowance for the label "gluten free" it is a voluntary label and it is supposed to mean that the ingredients have no more than 20ppm, but it is not tested. However, if it is certified gluten free by the Gluten Free Certification Organization then the items contain less than 10ppm.

Emily, a quick check of their Web site shows zero stores within a 120 mile radius of Raleigh. It says to email them at info@latortillafactory.com to see about getting their products at your favorite store.

Hey Emily - Saw you today at the GF Fair at Whole Foods, but you were rockin' the bass, so we didn't really get to talk. You and the guy on the keyboard sounded great though. And what a great fair! I never get to sample things in the store, so it was really nice to just go nutty on every booth. Heh!
